Los Veranos Canopy Tour

Your adventure at Los Veranos Canopy Tour begins as your friendly, bilingual driver takes you on a complimentary scenic drive along the southern coast of Banderas Bay. From your air-conditioned van or open-air Mercedes jungle cruiser, you'll enjoy fantastic views of lovely beaches, palatial ocean-side villas and the craggy monoliths of Los Arcos, one of the most recognized landmarks in Puerto Vallarta.

You will then walk through the tropical jungle while the expert guides share their knowledge and point out coffee trees, vanilla vines, exotic orchids and the agave plants used to make tequila. The forest is alive with bromeliads, philodendron, strangler figs and tree-bound termite nests used by migrating parakeets to house and feed their chicks. You'll be amazed by the profuseness of flora and fauna that co-exists here in  Los Veranos. For you animal lovers, our animal sanctuary provides an opportunity to become acquainted with our distant primate cousins and some creepy crawlers. Our trained and professional staff will provide information on the variety of animals in our sanctuary and the local environment. The truly daring can get a big hug from our Burmese python or let a furry tarantula crawl across your face. So come and meet squirrel monkeys, marmoset monkeys, the mysterious tejones and everybody's favorite, Cancun the Cat - in a fun and safe environment!

The first three cables are practice runs, designed to slowly introduce you to the zip lines and inspire confidence.

Using the highest quality safety equipment, you will gently glide on a steel cable to the first tree platform. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the jungle canopy and forest floor. Expert guides on each end of the cable will put you at ease and soon any fear of heights you may have melts into the beauty of your surroundings.

What to bring

Be sure to bring comfortable shoes, insect repellent, a camera with a strap, a sweat-shirt (morning tours from November-February) and if you'd like to swim, a bathing suit and towel (November to August).

Restrictions

Due to the nature of the tour, there is a weight limit of 275 lbs/125 kilos. With prior notice, we do our best to accommodate the special needs of physically challenged individuals. However, people with the following conditions can NOT participate in the Canopy Tour:

• Children under 6
• Pregnant women
• People with heart conditions
• People with chronic back pain or shoulder problems
• People who are unable to walk up steps
• Intoxicated individuals
