An evening at Le Fort Restaurant is an unforgettable dining experience filled with great wine and excellent food. And it's more than dinner...
The evening
You are first greeted by Chef Gilles and his wife Margarita who proceed to give you a small tour of the restaurant. You are then seated at the U-shaped bar in the intimate kitchen to begin the meal with pâté and Champagne. Chef Gilles then starts the meal with the freshest of ingredients, explaining the process in his humourous style and sharing his cooking secrets while you sip on white and red wine from his cellar. As the evening progresses, you taste the meal, learn the secrets and enjoy the company.
After desert, Chef Gilles rolls out the Armagnac cart and explains why it's different from Cognac. You are given the opportunity to taste a variety of vintages ($$) and types of Digestifs. The evening closes with a tour of the cellar where you can purchase wine (Chateau Latour 1959 anyone?) and their mini gift shop where you can purchase the 'magic salt' to season any dish! Looking over the guestbook, it's evident that the evening is always memorable. You return home with a copy of the recipe for the evening meal, full, satisfied and with a grin.
Chef Le Fort is the winner of numerous culinary awards, and his warm conviviality is the real secret ingredient of this culinary experience. Once dinner is served, the chef and his wife, Margarita, will join the table, entertaining with stories of their experiences in Mexico, France and beyond.
Remember - The first group of six to book for the evening chooses the menu, hors d´oeuvre, main course and dessert; the maximum class size is 18, so groups often blend together.

Two more different wines during dinner
Homemade sausages, pâtés, and more delicacies are available in the adjoining shop.
Unique to most resteraunts - Suites are available upstairs!
After dining with Chef Gilles and Margarita, stroll on up to one of the available suites for renters looking to stay & absorb all Bucerias has to offer for a week or so! Make sure you reserve ahead not just for dinner but check here for information regarding the upstairs suites too!
The Wine Cellar
Le Fort has an extensive wine cellar - I saw some Armagnac and Cognac bottles from 1973, 1968, right down to 1953! How many times in our life time do we get to sample such aged pleasures? Within this wine cellar are some 3,000 bottles! You will find some of the best brands and harvests of Mexican and French wines A large variety of red and white wines, champagnes, etc. The wine cellar is temperature controlled all year round to preserve the best quality of the wine.
