Bahia Home Care is a new company established to provide professional services to individuals and their families dealing with an illness, injury, or disability. Our services allow an individual to remain in their Mexico home with optimal home care, comfort and oversight.

Bahia Home Care provides home care services along the coast of Nayarit on the Bay of Banderas from Puerto Vallarta northwards, including Nuevo Vallarta, Mezcales, Bucerias, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, and San Francisco/San Pancho.

Our 1st fundraiser for Calidad de Vida Palliative/Hospice Care will be at the Twisted Rose this Saturday night, February 27th. The Twisted Rose has a wonderful new menu and we will be at the door at 7pm, requesting a $30 peso donation at the door. The live salsa music will begin at 9PM. We will have 2, 50/50 raffles with tickets costing $50 pesos. Winners will be announced between 9:30 and 10 and another at around midnight.

Please come join us and celebrate the beginning of new healthcare service for the people of the Bay.
Mark your calenders now for a fundraiser on the afternoon of April 18th at the fabulous Casa Isabel in Puerto Vallarta. Specific information will be sent out when we get a little closer to the date.

A registered Nurse from the US, with experience in both home care and hospice services will come to your home, the hospital, or work with you over the phone or internet to determine your needs and wants and then develop a Personalized Care Plan.

This can be as simple as finding personal care givers, teaching care techniques, arranging daily phone or personal contact or assistance with finding necessary equipment. It can also mean recommendations for home modifications to increase safety or allow for accessibility due to changes in mobility.

Services

  • Evaluation and Assessment of the individual based on medical condition and living situation

  • Development of a Comprehensive Personalized Home Care plan for optimum living. The care plan will address the patient / family goals. This would be a similar to a plan done by a Home Care or Hospice agency in the US or Canada but the the delivery would be slightly different based on constraints unique to Mexico

  • The goals will be based on the reality of the situation, whether that means recovery, dealing with a chronic illness, or living with a terminal diagnosis.

  • Care Management Services, whether that is daily or weekly.

  • Consultation with your physician, whether in your home country or in Mexico.

  • Assistance in hiring or training of staff to provide the services identified in the Personalized Care plan and supervision of the services delivered as needed. Care providers will have the daily support and guidance of Bahia Home Care.

  • Assistance in obtaining specialized medical equipment/materials that will provide comfort and ease in the care giving process, such as oxygen in the home.

  • Information on medical conditions and medications and options.

  • Assistance with finding professional providers such as acupuncturists, physicians, massage therapists, nurses and other care givers.

  • You live here in Mexico and have a loved one failing in the US. You want to find a professional in their area that can assess the situation, drop by and you can call in an emergency.

About Us

Lisa & John Ozzello moved to Bucerias and have established a Home Health Care business that they hope will make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and the community.

They recognize that many expats have moved here without the support of their extended families. Home Health Care and Hospice are common services in other nations but are not common here in Mexico. Bahia Home Care is providing similar services in home care that you would find in your home country and their commitment and experience will allow individuals to remain in this paradise regardless of problems with their health or disability.

Hospice

Lisa and John are working to develop a bilingual bicultural non-profit hospice which will provide care in the home, to all people living on the Bay of Banderas. The intention is to provide services from Mismaloya up to La Peñita. They are committed to creating a fully functioning hospice with care that is equal to the care provided in countries like the US and Canada. The agency will be committed to assist individuals with a life threatening illness in having the highest quality of life possible.
